SangSangMaru

SangSangMaru is a social venture company in the field of culture and arts for children and families that was established with the goal of being a 'cultural imagination group that touches the world with stories’.

As a professional performance production focusing on projects for children and families, the company has been dedicated to creating well-made original performance content.

Based on endless creativity and challenging spirits, we were able to create a new history in the production of children's performances. Since its establishment in 2012, it has produced and distributed a total of 17 performances for children and families. It has distributed a number of performances in Asian countries such as China and Vietnam, and co-produced and developed performance and art education programs with European countries such as Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

Singapore Art Museum

Established in 1978, Vietnam Youth Theater is a national theater under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and is a member of the International Association of Children and Youth Theater.

Located in central Hanoi, the theater is one of Vietnam's most dynamic and creative theaters, and has produced notable achievements for more than 40 years in producing art for children and teenagers.

The Vietnam Youth Theater has 588 seats, and about 160 members are active in dance music and theater parts. It also interacts with international cultural institutions, art organizations, and overseas theaters to serve as a bridge to cultural and artistic exchange activities that promote Vietnamese culture to the world, while introducing new cultural and artistic values to Vietnamese audiences through the convergence of international contemporary art trends.

Project

<Troll's Child>

As part of the 2023 Korea-ASEAN Joint Culture and Arts Cooperation Project, SangSangMaru, a cultural workshop, collaborated with the Vietnam Youth Theater to premiere the Korean-Vietnam co-creation musical "Troll's Child" Through the co-production <Troll's Child> between Korea and Vietnam, we want to reinterpret the true meaning and value of modern families and embody literary values on the stage.

The musical "Troll's Child" is a creative musical based on the Swedish short story "The Child of Troll" by Selma Lagerlöf, the first female Nobel Prize winner to deal with beautiful motherhood and love for life based on the Nordic troll legend. I would like to say that anyone can become a true family or community through efforts to accept and understand each other's differences while maintaining the literary value of the original work.
